Most workload advice is about how you feel and what you can drop. Directed time is different: your headteacher can direct you for up to 1,265 hours a year, and at least 10% of your timetabled teaching time has to be planning, preparation and assessment. Those are numbers, and if yours are wrong it is worth being able to say so precisely.
