Free PLC generator: a personalised learning checklist from your specification

A personalised learning checklist, or PLC, lists every point in a course's specification so pupils can see exactly what they need to know. Next to each point, pupils rate themselves Red, Amber or Green: Red for "I cannot do this yet", Amber for "I am getting there" and Green for "I am confident".

Teachers hand PLCs out before mocks, end-of-topic tests and final exams, so pupils spend revision time on their Reds and Ambers rather than the topics they already know. Choose your exam board's specification PDF below and you get a checklist in the board's own words, ready to print or edit in Word.

Make your checklist

Your PDF is read in your browser and never leaves your device.

Choose your specification PDF

Download it from your exam board's website, then choose it here.

How it works

1

Choose the specification PDF

Use the PDF from your exam board's website. It is opened in your browser, and the pages holding the subject content are found for you.

2

Check the pages

Adjust the first and last page if you need to, up to 40 pages. The text of those pages is split into the specification's own points.

3

Edit and download

Add the subject, qualification and class, untick any points to leave out, then download for Word or print it.

The PDF itself never leaves your device. Only the text of the pages you choose is sent to be split into points, and only if those pages have not been split before. What is sent, and where.

Frequently asked questions

Which exam boards does it work with?
It works from the PDF you choose rather than a built-in list, so it works with GCSE, A level and other specifications from AQA, OCR, Pearson Edexcel, WJEC Eduqas and other boards, as long as the PDF has real text in it rather than scanned images.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The PDF is read in your browser. Only the text of the pages you choose is sent to be split into points, and if anyone has made a checklist from exactly the same pages before, nothing is sent to the AI at all. The points are kept so the same pages are not split twice; nothing about you is stored with them.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no charge. You can make two checklists a day from specifications that have not been split before, and as many as you like from ones that have.
Can pupils use it?
No. It is for teachers to make checklists for their pupils. Make the checklist, then print it or share the Word file with your class.
